KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT FOR EFFECTIVE PROCESSES IN ORGANIZATION WORKSHOP PROGRAMME (10 days programme)

Objectives of the workshop:

  1. To introduce participants to Knowledge Management concepts and components.
  2. To help participants understand their new role as knowledge and information providers in the dynamic professional world.
  3. To help participants understand the process and procedure of carrying out a knowledge audit
  4. To draft a knowledge strategy for the respective institution’s based on mission, vision, goal and objectives of the institution
  5. To Understand and document information or knowledge that is a best practice and success story for innovative use and reuse in service delivery
  6. To come up with actionable KM Action Plan

 

Title: Library, information and Knowledge Management Workshop (5 days progamme)

Objectives

  1. To discuss the modern concepts in library and information science for improved service delivery
  2. To expose participants to the range of electronic resources available
  3. To train participants on search strategies requisite for information retrieval
  4. To learn about web 2.0 tools for research.
  5. To introduce participants to Knowledge Management and how it is linked to library services

 

Title: Electronic resources: a practical approach (10 days programme)

Objectives

  1. To expose participants to the range of electronic resources available
  2. To train participants on search strategies requisite for information retrieval
  3. To train participants on strategies on timely availability of resources to clients including setting up alerts
  4. To learn about web 2.0 tools for research.

 

Title: Mentorship of library staff (3 days’ workshop)

Objectives:

  1. To introduce participants to mentorship and how to identify mentors
  2. To introduce participants to networking and its usefulness in professional/ library growth
  3. To discuss trends in the profession that will improve service delivery
  4. To introduce participants to library advocacy towards repositioning the library in the institution
  5. To enhance capacity building through presentations by participants
  6. To document best practices and success stories/ lessons learnt for future innovations

 

Title: Filing and Records Management (5 days programme)

Objectives

  1. To help participants understand the importance of good filing and record management for their institutions
  2. To help participants improve filing and record management of their institutions by setting up an effective administration system
